H Balm Comments and Feedback Pg. 3

Word of advice: If its not an antiviral prescribed by your doctor. It claims to heal, deactivate and eradiate the HSV virus are most likely bogus. However, that doesn't mean their product isn't helpful in other ways.

H Balm is a mixture of Lemon Balm, Ravansara, Lavender, Melaleuca, Cymbogogon, and Palmarosa. It's a supposed outbreak eliminator yet it really just offers a 'soothing' effect. I know this because I've tried it before and have a bottle right in front of me. It's kinda like Tea Tree Oil; basically has the same effects. There are actually two formulas - one is the  H BALM -HSV outbreak eliminator, and the other is H BALM DAILY - HSV outbreak suppressor. The latter is a mixture of Lemon Balm, Melissa, Geranacea, Melaleuca, Lavender, Hazelnut and Jojoba. When I was first diagnosed I was looking crazy for a cure all. For the price of this stuff it really ISN'T worth it. It's lasted a long time, mainly because I don't use it that often. It has a very strong scent, so you have to be careful where you go after you apply it to your crotch. At least I don't think dogs would like it...;-) I wouldn't say anything bad about it, except that its way too expensive!!!

As for the H Balm, I've read posts from people who swear by it, and others who say don't waste your money. I guess you can only try it yourself and see how it works for you. I think that Lidocaine gel I've heard a couple of young ladies talk about, (their docs/gyn's prescribed it), is probably the best thing going. Numb the whole area, and wait for the Valtrex Vitamin to take effect.

A friend of mine used H Balm in addition to taking Valtrex. I have never tried H-Balm personally but then again... I am not suffering from flare ups and do not take Valtrex for suppression any more either.

It can take 3-5 weeks for an outbreak to heal. When I get one, I jump on it with H-Balm and it's gone within 2 or 3 days. Different things work differently for different people (couldn't figure out a way to stick one more 'different' in that sentence! lol). I like H-Balm because it's not going through your system but, rather, applied topically to the exact spot(s).

I was skeptical but the H-balm really does help! I used it once when I was out of meds and now I use it as soon as I feel a tingle.

In case I wasn't clear, H-Balm works! For those who live in SF, Rainbow groceries sells it and there is a coupon in the yellow pages for 20% your total order on Wednesdays and Thursdays. (If you don't have a phonebook, Safeway usually has some out front) Of course, everyone's chemistry is different which is why Valtrex doesn't seem to help some of you.
