Lemon Balm is an all natural alternative product that people are finding over the counter or ordering online in an attempt to treat herpes simplex virus. If you have tried Lemon Balm please share your positive or negative experiences about that product for posting on this feedback page. LEMON BALM - Have you tried it?  

I have had genital herpes for 20+ years and deal with a mild outbreak once or twice a year. A little over a year ago I decided to really do extensive research and see if there are any products out there to help reduce outbreaks or help them heal faster. One that I decided to purchase was Dynamiclear - and it is a good product with quality ingredients. I believe it kills the virus that it comes in contact with and helps them heal faster. I would endorse the product. The other thing I use and really believe in is Lemon Balm. - K

Pro Lemon Balm (Melissa Officinalis) Other Names Include: Balm, Balm mint, Blue balm, Dropsy plant, Garden balm, Sweet balm, and Melissa. I first learned about lemon balm for herpes in one of my health magazines. I read that it has anti-viral properties and has been proven to be effective in treating herpes. I was then fortunate to find a lemon balm cream in one of my local health food stores. I fell in love with it. I’m not one who likes to take medicine and thus have stayed away from suppressive therapy.

For me, lemon balm has given me the relief I’ve needed instead. I just put it on my genital area several times a day when I am having an outbreak or as soon as I notice herpes prodrome. Then within 1-3 days my sores have disappeared (or never appeared at all). As someone who has suffered a lot of pain from outbreaks, this has offered great relief for that as well. It is soothing. As a woman I have found that it takes away the pain I was feeling when I use the bathroom during an outbreak. An added bonus is that it smells nice too. Oh yeah, and it is even affordable.

I moved and can no longer find lemon balm in any of the local health food stores. Thus, I now buy it online. If you type in lemon balm in the search box in the top left corner it'll take you to it. I buy the Wise Ways Herbals Salves for Natural Skin Care – Lemon Balm Cream 2 oz for $8.08 ($9.50 if it ever goes off sale). If you wish to read more about lemon balm, just type in “lemon balm herpes” into google and you can find lots of information. From what I read, it doesn’t work as effectively for everyone as it does for me. However, it has been proven that it is effective and I definitely think it is worth a try! - J.

Good news.. i found a cold sore lip balm stick called Herpecin l, hl30. ive been looking for something at the store w melissa (lemon balm) and this has it! also lysine, i apply it every hr , an its healing up much faster, an not painful. - E

Herpecin l, hl30 contains dimethicone, meradimate, octinoxate, octisalate, oxybenzone, lysine, b6, C, E, and lemon balm. supposed to be for lips, im using on penis, and its a stick so i don't have to put it on w my fingers, was bout tired of that.= p - E
