I tried Chemistry.com and I didn't like it

My husband and I met through Match.com at the end of 2003. He is German I am Costa Rican and I moved to Texas where my husband was living and working. We got married for Valentine's Day, February 2005 in  the Denton County in Texas. We will be celebrating our 3d wedding anniversary soon! - M

My husband and I had joined Match.com in the summer of 2006.  We had both been looking for our soul mate.  We dated and explored other options with Match.com. We have talked several times about letting Match.com know about our story, but had not had the opportunity to do so until now.  We even talked about our other contacts that we had made during our subscription to Match.com and we are both still friends with several of them.

I can tell you that in November of 2006, Tim called me and professed his love for me and that he found his soul mate.  I was just waiting for that call to happen.  In June of 2007, we were married, and are very happy.  We have found that the success to our  relationship is the fact that we communicate.  Our relationship isn't perfect, but there is not a perfect relationship out there.  But, if there were, we are the closest that we can get.  We love each other more and more each day, give each other support, and never hide or keep secrets from each other.

Match.com is the reason we met and married, and we would like to thank you for that.  We would like to also tell anyone that is out there looking for the right person for them that it is possible, and that we are living proof of it.  The key is to be totally honest with each other. Thank You Match.com for making our dreams come true in finding true love and companionship. - Tim and Jill Clendenin

Hi I think your site is great thanks for the support. The problem with main stream dating sites is that you (besides Match.com) can't do a detailed search or word search until you are a member, so you can't search for the code numbers 437737 on the sites. Any suggestions? I wish there was a way that more people with H knew about how to use the numbers 437737 and actually had the code in their ads! Keep on supporting us it is great. Thanks. - M

One thing that I came across today was a set of Match.com success stories. I think it's always great to read how others met using online dating services such as Match.com. The nice thing about these success stories is that the participants are willing to share photos. If I were single I would probably give Match.com a try for the simple fact that they allow you to browse for free. So you are not obligated to pay the small fee until you find that special someone you might be interested in getting to know first. - Angela

I've got one for you! I met my husband on Match.com 3.5 years ago. It was a whirlwind romance and he truly swept me off my feet. He told me he loved me after our 6th date. Nearly a year into our relationship he revealed that he has herpes. I thought he was kidding. He said he failed to mention it because he had forgotten that he had it. WOW - looking back I can't see how anyone could forget. I went in for a blood test and found out that I have the antibodies for HSV-2 and am likely an asymptomatic carrier. I've never had an outbreak. He told me it doesn't matter because I'll only be with him the rest of my life and I accepted that. Now we've split up and I'm trying to figuring out how this will all unfold for me. (That's the end of my match story) I've done a search on 437737 and found only a small handful of men nationwide who have indicated so in their match profile - hardly the 25% of the infected population. My doctor said that percentage is closer to 1/2 of all sexually active adults. - J

Well you know I met my hunka hunka burning love thru Match.com -  2.5 years ago :) I was the only gal he even contacted. Because of that we'll never be on a commercial! Not many men have that kind of luck. ;) And to think it was the dorky cooking in the kitchen and I'm going to kill you for taking my picture look on the picture I had posted that made him want to write. - B

While we are on the subject of profiles and Match.com here's a tip. When you do a keyword search for Herpes or HSV, be sure to read the *whole* profile before you respond. The search will pull up more than just herpsters. For instance, I saw one that, at the very last line of a very long profile, said "No STDS not even Herpes." So anyone not reading the whole profile might respond to someone they shouldn't. Also, for the keyword "HSV", read those carefully as well. HSV is also often used as an abbreviation for Huntsville Alabama. So those profiles get pulled up too. Just a little heads up from the voice of experience - Anon

Lately people are saying that the 437737 number combination doesn't seem to be working out on Match.com After doing some checking I got a little note in my inbox from a friend that had some great advice about how to utilize the numbers in the most effective way possible so be sure and keep reading! - Angela

"I changed my profile on Match.com to include the 437737 numbers by putting them into a sentence and it was accepted. Seems you just can't have arbitrary numbers or they will be removed. I saw a few other Match.com ads where they did things like, "Been reading about my friend 437737" or "I have 437737 interests" so that's what I did. - Anon
