Hi
my name is Jane I am 48 years old. I am just newly married
to a guy who is 9 years younger than me, a big sweet gym
head. I have two grown sons and a grand daughter. I grew
up in Ohio but moved to a small rural town in NY 24
years ago but now I am back in Ohio. I am a strong
believer in Christ and active in the church community.
Prayer has helped me get through many a tough situation.
I
have not been diagnosed with hsv2 for very long somewhere
about 2 years..I have lost count. When I first was
diagnosed I wanted to blame my ex husband because why else
after 30 years of being sexually active would I suddenly
have an outbreak. I figured he must have given it to me.
My nurse practitioner was the one who set me straight before
I blamed him. She said I could have had this many years and
it just never reared its ugly head until so many stresses
hit me at once. I take Valtrex to protect my hubby. Who I
had to tell when we started dating. He did very well and
was very educated on hsv. He had dated alot and met several
women with hsv.
I
worked in an STD clinic as the community educator for 10
years. So to me hsv is not a big deal and has changed my
life very little except for taking the little blue pill
daily. I have a passion for educating others about std's
which is why I signed on to be an H Pal. I wish I could have
found a job here in Ohio educating people about std's but I
will use the passion another way. I have met so many people
who do not have a clue about std's or think they will not
happen to them. I want to give them the information so they
will have an educated decision to have sex, so they won't be
like a number of young women who say I didn't know.
Knowledge is power...so if you are reading this you are on
your way to gaining that power to help yourself with your
hsv. Read, ask questions, get support, gain lots of
knowledge and you will help yourself with herpes and be at
peace. -
Jane
