Edmonton H Pal

My name is Chris and I have been infected with HSV2 for 5 years now. When first contracting the virus I felt very down and out, always thinking that no one was ever going to want to be with me again. I started researching it finding out all of the information I could on how this was going to change my life.

Years later I have come to embrace herpes as a part of my life, and a part of who I am. I have learned that herpes has not changed my life and I am still the same person I was before. I am very open with my condition and have told all my friends and family. I have had very positive reactions when telling others that I have herpes, and none of my partners, friends or family has ever rejected me for having herpes.

I have founded the only herpes support group in Edmonton called “ The Big H Support Group” there are a few place you can find us: the first being on face book, you can search for us under, “the big h support group”. The second is on herpes-coldsore.com under the name, “Edmonton herpes support group”.

The goal of “The big H support group” is to provide a social group for other to meet people that share our common problem, and also to provide support and information to the newly infected individuals. Our social group meets once a month at local places around the city of Edmonton, and is designed to be a fun social environment for everyone. Information on when and where our group meets is posted on our group pages on face book and herpes-coldsore.com.

My personal goal is to provide support to others in need with herpes, and until I created the Edmonton support group there was just nowhere you could get help in Edmonton. You are not alone. I’m trying to bring more awareness to the herpes community and show others that it’s ok to let people know that you have herpes, and that those people won’t judge you for having it, and if they do, then you really don’t need a friend like that. People have to accept you for who you really are, and you have to accept who you really are. Don’t be afraid to let others know. Once you accept yourself and your condition you will be at peace with yourself and having herpes will no longer affect your self-esteem.

Please feel free to contact me anytime.
