Toronto Ontario H Pal
Colene was diagnosed with
Herpes
Type 2 in July of 2001. She spent the majority of
the first year after her diagnosis learning as much as she
could about HSV so she could get a better handle on managing
the new health problem she was dealing with. While learning
more about herpes,
Colene joined a number of HSV support groups along the way,
including being a regular of herpes chat rooms,
Picking Up the Pieces and Life After Herpes. Colene has also worked as a
moderator on a couple of Herpes Support Groups and still
contributes to the message boards of Life After Herpes and
The H Spot. Colene is also a former member the Phoenix
Association of Toronto.
Since being diagnosed with Herpes, Colene has dated several
men, including two relationships with men that were
HSV-negative. She has developed and continues to refine a
general guideline to help people with herpes
tell potential
partners about having herpes in a positive and informative
way. Colene speaks both French and English, and has spent
time developing a small collection of resources in French
for people with Herpes in Quebec, France and other french-speaking people with herpes.
Colene lives in Toronto, Ontario. She has a 12 year old son
and works full time in Information Technology for a
Brokerage House in Canada and the United States. Her hobbies
include an avid interest in Blues & Jazz music and motor
sports. -
