Asympomatic both partners but both positive?

Postby ohnonotthat » Sun Oct 04, 2015 12:15 pm

My BF got a HSV infection in his eye! No genital symptoms on him. I just tested positive but have never seen any signs of infection. We use condoms. Question is, can we get "more infected", blisters in other places or is it, once it's in your system it doesn't matter? Any insight is appreciated. I'm almost thinking we could ditch the condoms if we are both positive anyway?

A person will either have HSV-1, HSV-2, both, or nothing at all.

I don’t believe you can catch more of what you have. It is possible to contract both.

HSV will take up residence in the ganglia at the top of your spine or the bottom of your spine. (Ganglia = Nerve Pathways)

sure, if you're both positive for the same type.

if you have different types, then either of you could contract the other one.
