I take Zinc,Selenium,Vitamin E & c,Echinacea/Goldenseal and Green Tea pills everyday.I'm trying the all natural approach of suppressive therapy. It seems to be working since I havent had a outbreak yet.

Just because you haven't had an outbreak that you can see OR feel doesn't mean that you are not having asymptomatic shedding.

This is exactly why it's still possible to pass herpes even when there are no signs or symptoms that you can see or feel.

It also depends on which type you have and where it is located as to the frequency of your outbreaks.

That might have more to do with why you aren't experiencing them like before as compared to what you have taken.

I'm not really sure of the type that I have to be honest.I posted my results on Graces board last month and I think she said I have ghsv2 (whatever that is).I have never had one outbreak since I have contracted this and believe me I would know.As far as passing it along I havent got laid since I got it either.I'm still searching for a good doc in my area to go and get the real stuff.I want a doc that is familiar with this. Thanks for your input though

Nobody knows when they are shedding asymptomatically. I don't care how well you "think" you know your body.

I wasnt talking about asymptomatic shedding.I know you cant tell that, what I was referring to is actual physical painful outbreaks.I would know if I had a blister or a rash down there.

Yes. I've tried it. I think it works! I'm posting this message here and on racoon.com

I've used the zinc therapy as discussed by George Eby. I started in May 2007. I had an OB. I used an ~80MM solution of zinc gluconate wash for 1 week. I applied the wash 7 - 8 times a day for at least a 1/2 hr. each time. After the first week, I trimed day the number of times a day to 2 or 3, but lasting sometimes up to an hour. I did this for another week, then reduced the applications to once a day for about an hour a day for 2 months. In September, I had an OB. I started the therapy again, but did it for a shorter length of time...in total about 3 weeks. I had in OB in January of this year and did the same therapy for about 1 week. I think I had an OB in May but not sure. If I feel itchy, I apply the zinc wash for about an hour and it goes way (when is an itch an itch or a sign of an OB). If I have nerve pain, I may do the was for a couple of days.

I have gone from having several OBs a month to the 3 or possibly 4 in the past year. The OBs are so much smaller too, the last time, I wasn't sure if I had one. I've still had itching and nerve pain, down through the inside of one of my legs, so I keep using the wash. I have high hopes and tons of faith in using the zinc and I will continue to do so.

Since I started using this therapy (and I've used about all that's available over the 30 years that I've had HSV), the HSV is much reduced and I'm praying that I'm killing the virus more and more each time.

My theory, based on everything I've read, is that if the zinc gluconate kills some amount of the virus each time, eventually all the virus will be killed (or enough to keep in from ever coming back).

This therapy is not for the weak at heart. It's a nuisance. It's a guess. It's trial and error. Supposedly, zinc kills the virus and depending on the particular isotop (right word?), it "inactivates" it at different rates. Plus the strength of the solution and the amount of time appied, all plays a factor.

What using the zinc gluconate washes has done for me is given me hope that one day, I won't have any more OBs and I like that. I believe God has made the antedoctes and left it up to us human beings to find it. So I'm having faith. I promised myself that I would communicate my findings after using the zinc wash for a year. I'm going to continue using the wash as needed and will report again. I hope and pray that it will be that I haven't had any more OBs.

If you want to give it a try, I'd read about it on George Eby's web site and use the words herpes, zinc in a search engine to pull up articles on various scientific tests that have been performed in the past.

Wishing you the best,
Jules

Hi Jules,

Thanks for posting about your experience.

I just wanted make sure that people reading this thread understand that there is no way to "kill" the virus from their bodies.

In other words, there is no way to remove the virus permanently.. at least not yet anyway.

Thanks for your participation,

Angela
