Anybody care to share what they think in this thread? I see a couple of people have posted but nobody really shared their thoughts?

I think the Valtrex commercials are to vague, and don't really address the issue. Which is controlling the spread. They need to make people aware of how common it is, and recommend testing... as well as promoting their treatment.

ditto. I felt they could have stood making the commercial two seconds longer by adding that most people don't know they have genital herpes, and it's good to be tested regularly as it is possible to spread herpes without an outbreak. They just noted the last part about spreading without outbreak.

The commericals really need to be less vague about transmission. I work with teens and many of them still think that valtrex is a cure for hsv. I also wish they would use some teens in the commerials too.

I would be happy if the Valtrex commercials stated the following:

"It's estimated 1/4 adults have HSV that causes GH. 90% of these people have no idea they have H. GSK strongly advises everyone to be properly tested before using Valtrex".

I too think it would be a good thing if there was a commercial that showed teens...

When i see the commercial i get caught up on the trial that "a" clinical study showed......it makes me think that they are drug pedlers!!! Was only one trial really done to substantiate the validity of this drug??

I honestly can't believe you have VALTREX COMMERCIALS IN THE USA this is incredible to me, This is the country that doesn't allow sanitary wear and dyper (nappy) commercials right? Incredible!

So do they like have some babe coming out of the pool saying " I use Valtrex, it works of me lol" ?

It obviously reflects the '1 out of 4 ppl have HSV' theory in the states, but still ppl have the stigma. If the ads keep coming on, why isn't it so commonplace as not to be an issue?

We have one in the UK for cold sores only, which no one blinks at! It's only a cold sore after all!
