Do STDs lead to AIDS?

STDs alone do not lead to HIV infections or AIDS. But having an STD can make it easier to get HIV if there is contact with it. Some STDs cause breaks in the skin that let the virus enter the bloodstream more easily. See a health care provider for testing and treatment if you think you might have any STD.
