I have HSV1 and was sick of the cold sores. I recently found a new girlfriend and she has HSV1 & HSV2. By contracting the HSV2 it seems to fight off the cold sore problem, leaving me with no outbreaks! Not sure of the science but am sure of the results. Sometimes contracting an additional disease helps you out.

Yes but does the herpes virus work to fight cancer? Will it somehow destroy OR keep the cancer from spreading? What is the theory on those thoughts? Thanks! :]

No, it's definitely not the same, unfortunately. Note that the virus is "designed" to do something; unless you've been dating a rather careless scientist working on this project, chances are that your herpes won't prevent you from getting cancer :P Wouldn't it be nice, though!
