I would like to see science solve this issue in the end too. There are many ways to suppress the virus. Those ways that come from personal experimentation is considered risky behavior for those that are trying to protect an uninfected partner, wouldn’t you agree? That’s why I tend to stick with the stuff that has been clinically proven to suppress outbreaks and reduce asymptomatic shedding by 95%. Those methods that have not been clinically proven are coincidental at best. I am a fan of OTC stuff that can help to soothe the skin though. That’s just me trying to keep it real.

Dear yoshi2me, you have sober but cynical view in this matter.. I guess most of us discussing herpes really know that it is a chronical infection. However, any means to keep it suppressed is good wouldn’t you agree?
For someone that had 1-2 outbreaks per month decreased to maybe once a year is a huge improvement and worth sharing. And yes you’re right there are None, Zip, Zilch ways to wipe out the virus..known So far. I’m a true believer that science will solve this in the end and will keep on experimenting until it does.

I have an 8 year old son that has had recurring outbreaks of oral herpes for three years. Nasty big ones coming sometimes twice a month. Feb 07 I started to give him D3 supplementation (15 µg/day) and since then no sign of the damn virus.. Also his skin that was dry and withered is now smooth as silk.

Why don’t you just go and get a type specific herpes test done to find out if you have herpes or not?

As far as I know there is absolutely NO way to wipe out the virus from your body once you contract it.

My evidence is anecdotal, however. I’ve had oral herpes outbreaks for 35 years that now appear to have been eliminated with two years of vitamin D3 supplementation.

I now rarely if ever have oral herpes outbreaks. I had regular outbreaks from 8 years old onward usually due to illness or stress that were sometimes severe after sun exposure during early Winter.

Perhaps some aspiring medical student wanting to establish a reputation could do so by trawling medical databases to establish whether vitamin D strengthens lymphocytes. BTW, I am northern European.
