Herpes on her face
Posted on Saturday, September 20th, 2008 at 8:00 AMHere’s the comment I got:
Hi, I just moved into a apartment with two other girls. I just found out that one of the girls has herpes on her face. I just wanted to know what I should do to protect myself from getting it. I was also wondering what the chance are that I contract herpes.
Here are my two cents:
First all, how do you know that your room mate has herpes on her face? Does she have a history of cold sores OR fever blisters?
What makes you think that you are going to contract herpes from her? Are you letting her perform oral sex on you? Have you been kissing her while she is going through an outbreak?
Have you ever been tested for herpes yourself? Do you know your status?

The roommie could have some type of acne and not herpes all over the face or on certain parts of the face.
It could also be allergy related for all we know…
There are many different forms of facial sores so before you panic into thinking it is herpes it is wise to take some basics precautions. Don’t share any utensils, glasses, toothbrushes, towels..etc. No direct contact with sores without protection.
Anybody that gets cold sores OR fever blisters has oral herpes.
What other types of facial sores besides zits or other known skin conditions could it be?
Outside of an allergic reaction what else could it possibly be?
That’s why it’s important to see your doctor if you are wanting to find out for sure.
Don’t try and self diagnose, ok?
it doesn’t mean that if you have sore on your face it is because of herpes. it is maybe because of pimples, insects bites. the best thing to do is consult a doctor. it is better to know what really it is before drinking any medice.
It’s also best if you do have signs OR symptoms to get in and see your doctor within the first 24 to 48 hours so they can do a culture.
If she says she has em, she does. When they go away and she lets you know its all good, its all good. She did not ask for herps on the face, so dont treat her like an outcast!
Nobody is treating anybody like an outcast. Who are you referring to?
