Suppressive therapy for herpes doesn't do anything for HIV if you already know that you are HIV positive.

Suppressive therapy using Valtrex, Acyclovir OR Famvir reduces the frequency of herpes outbreaks, intensity of herpes outbreaks, as well as asymptomatic shedding of the virus.

I have not ever heard of suppressive therapy for herpes doing anything for HIV. Are you referring to the right STD with regard to this thread?

Yes, it's true that people with genital herpes are more susceptible to other STD because it provides a way for other virus to enter the body.

Also, Herpes Suppression May Not Prevent HIV Infection.
herpes drug aciclovir (Zovirax) doesn’t reduce the risk of HIV-1 infection in people who have sex with men infected with genital herpes, a U.S. study finds.Previous research has shown that herpes simplex virus type-2 (HSV-2) infection — the most common cause of genital herpes — increases the risk for HIV-1 infection by two- to threefold.

Maybe people are confusing HSV with HPV... since there is a link between HPV and cervical cancer.

Of course, having HPV doesn't mean you will definitely get cancer. You just need to be monitored and treated if any problems arise.

There are some good HPV patient stories on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/user/DigeneHPVtest
