It’s possible to contract herpes via oral sex but again… the circumstances have to be just right.

Now had your boyfriend been tested properly for STD’s to include herpes? How about you? Have you been tested? Do the both of you know your status?

it is 100% possible to catch HSV from skin to skin contact and i am living proof. I have been with my girlfriend for many years and I stupidly enough went to a massage parlor and had a handjob. This was just shortly after my girlfriend were tested negative by Herpeselect for both HSV1 and 2. Shortly after the handjob i got lots of red rashs and spots which the doctor confirmed by the same Herpeselect test was HSV2. My girlfriend is still negative and that was the only encounter outside of our relationship that i have had

So please understand HSV2 is possible to get outside of straight on sex and that a handjob is definitely the right medium to pass it on!!!

Herpes can be spread through sex, kissing, and skin-to-skin under the right circumstances.

No matter which method the virus would have to be active and present and the circumstances just right.

Herpes isn’t exclusively spread through sexual contact and kissing. Many wrestlers contract the right sides of their faces and necks, where they have lots of skin to skin contact. It’s pretty common, with up to 30% of the athletes carrying the virus by college.

But of course, this doesn’t mean people are “100%” contagious all the time. It’s probably pretty safe to snuggle since she probably doesn’t have broken skin all the time, especially if he’s taking suppressive Valtrex which helps to suppress shedding.

But it isn’t totally true that herpes is ONLY spread through sex and kissing.

Herpes is transmitted through sex, anal sex, oral sex and kissing. There is nothing contradictory on my site OR my blog so I don’t know what you are talking about.

You can’t contract herpes by simply touching and just because somebody has herpes doesn’t mean that they are 100% contagious all the time.

It’s pretty clear that you still have tons of reading up to do. Of course, I can’t help it if you aren’t reading accurate information out there on the internet.

Greetings, I thought I was well informed until I started reading the contradictory information on this & other sites. Now, if herpes can be transmitted via skin to skin then why wouldn’t lyinig next to your mate who has hsv not leave you exposed to infection. When reference is made to skin 2 skin it leaves one to think that lying next to each ther naked is risky.

She would have to have some sort of opening on her leg and no virus herself. It’s totally unlikely that she would contract herpes simply by lying next to her boyfriend.

Herpes is spread through kissing, sex, anal sex, and oral sex. There is not other way really contract it unless it were a total fluke. Remember, the circumstances have to be just right.

If the bf got herpes on his leg and it is asymptomatically shedding at that spot, they are cuddling in bed and rubbing their bodies together, why couldn’t she get it in her leg the same way he got it in his? I mean why would he be able to contract it there and not her? It might not be likely (because neither surface is mucous membrane? - I dunno), but not impossible, no?
