My girlfriend was born with oral herpes. What is the possibility that I will get it? And also, if it’s oral herpes, can it be transmitted when having oral sex?

I really don’t think that your girlfriend was born with oral herpes. I think somebody with oral herpes probably gave her a kiss when she was little and that is how she contracted it.

Now somebody with oral herpes can perform oral sex on their partner and possibly pass it to them that way. Then their partner might wind up contracting it. That’s how people contract genital herpes type-1.
